RULES AND REGULATIONS perform an important function for community associations. An association’s declaration and bylaws establish fundamental property rights and obligations of the association and its homeowners, specify corporate governance procedures, and outline general standards of conduct for the community. The purpose of rules and regulations is to help complement the declaration and bylaws with more detailed guidelines for the day-to-day use and administration of the condominium property or common interest development. If drafted and applied in a thoughtful manner, rules and regulations will help contribute to the successful operation of the property and the quality of life of its homeowners.
