Magazine advertising can give a boost to your next goat sale


Yes, most of us are tied into Facebook,


Twitter and Instagram — but we all know goat folks like their Goat Rancher. Magazines aren’t as popular as they used to be, but we — more than anyone else — know there’s a spot for our publication.


In fact, that “spot” is on your dining table, night stand — or bathroom — where it can easily be accessed. You simply pick it up, flip the pages, fold a corner over at an article you want to read later, set it down — and days, weeks, even years later, the magazine will still be right there.


What I am getting at is a physical maga- zine is permanent. It’s there. No scrolling though multiple news feeds to find what you are looking for.


I bring all this up because of a question re- cently on, of all places, Facebook. Someone was wanting to know how Goat Rancher pro-


moted goat sales better than social media? Dad replied to the query. Here is what he


wrote:


“Goat Rancher is a physical magazine that you can hold in your hands, read the ar- ticles, and digest the ads. It’s easy to refer back to the information. It’s sitting on your coffee table — no scrolling. Goat Rancher is targeted. It goes directly into the hands of your potential buyers — no hoping someone scrolls across your information. We do more than publish your ad. We promote the industry every month and have been doing that consistently for the past 25 years. We follow up. If you have a sale, we’ll publish photos of your high-sellers and top buyers whether you advertise or not. Our motto has always been, if you succeed, we suc- ceed.
