$3,914 average at Splash of Color High-selling Lucky 7 buck brings $17,000

Friends and family gathered once again

in Cookeville, Tenn., on March 13 to host the 12th

Burkes Ag Pavilion and everyone enjoyed a complementary BBQ lunch from Moogies BBQ before the fun began.

The sale showcased 102 lots and the auc- tion began at 12-noon local time. The auction featured 91 live animals that averaged a record- breaking $3,914 per head. There were also 10 semen/embryo lots that averaged $1,865 each. The high-selling buck was Lot #43 con- signed by Chad & Nancy Steinke of Lucky 7 Farms (LK7 Black Label). He sold for $17,000 to Josh and Cassidy Ganoe of GFX Livestock in Ruffin, N.C.

The high-selling doe was Lot #34 con- signed by Brandon Williams and Rebecca Pol- lock of Bent Wheel Boer Goats (BBFF1 Queen of the Doublewide). She sold for $15,000 to Barrett Tolley of Quincy, Fla.

The Lot 50 donation, which is dedicated

to the sale’s founder, the late great Danny Sto- vall, brought $5,000. The proceeds will be do- nated to the Wounded Warrior Project. The winning bids were numerous from both onsite attendees and online winners via DVAuction.

The sale included an outstanding set of all colored goats offered for sale from some of the industry’s leading Colored Boer Goat Breeders. Big THANKS to all of the Splash family of consignors, DVAuction, Drew Williams from American Reality & Auction Company, and Jason Brashear for his great commentating.
