THROWBACK GALLERY NARSA/IDEA Throwbacks


NARSA member Brown Radiator & Alignment is based in Monroe, Louisiana. Pictured are Earl Rogers, J.B. Weeks, F.A. Brown Jr., F.A. Brown Sr. back in 1960. The business has been family-owned and operated for four generations.


Barton Radiator Works is based in Ontario, Canada. Founded by Robert G. Wilson in 1924, Barton Radiator Works has been repairing all sorts of radiators and vehicles for more than 80 years. The shop is currently run by Robert Wilson’s grandson Bill.


Bushey Automotive has been serving mid-Michigan’s automotive parts & repair needs since 1931. Morse & Leona Bushey were searching for a way to make ends meet. So in 1931, they began repairing and rebuilding radiators and heat exchangers for farmers and other industries in the region. Charging just a few pennies per fix, it was enough to sustain them during those hard times. Realizing they had a knack for the business, the Bushey Radiator Company was born. Bushey has been a proud NARSA/IDEA member since 1990.


Check out NARSA member Chad Spence from Industrial Radiator in Dallas, Texas! At just 4 years old, he was already helping his dad in the radiator shop.


Here’s a younger Charlie Dorsey from ERS Cooling Systems back in 2011 in Maryland working on an on-site generator job. Charlie is now a NARSA/IDEA Board Member.


In 1947, Roppel Industries hired its very first employee, a radiator repairman named “Smokey.” (left) Smokey’s hard- work, determination, and quest for excellence became the cornerstone that each of Roppel’s employees strive for every single day.


These photos are from Carter Radiator around 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Southwest Radiator’s Donna Dowler’s father James Johnson is pictured on the far right. James Johnson and David Moreland later started Johnson & Moreland Radiator. And James was a regional NARSA officer.
