Special Committee on Net Assets Reallocation The Special Committee on Net Assets Reallocation (SCO-

NAR) was created by the Moderator at Synod in 2020 and charged to reallocate at least $3,000,000 from the net assets of Synod boards and agencies to the ARP Retirement Plan Trust Fund. In November 2021, this letter went out to all churches from the SCONAR.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church is a connec-

tional denomination. We come to you now to appeal for your as- sistance in meeting a corporate need. The ARP Retirement Plan has been a blessing to ministers in our denomination. At the 2021 Synod, the defined benefits plan was frozen and we moved our retirement plan to a defined contribution plan. This change will give individual ministers the ability to invest their monies

in different options. However, we still have retired ministers and their spouses who are drawing a benefit from the old plan. The Synod needs to fund the old plan to provide for these retired pastors. The Lord has blessed us over the last

year. Based upon the actuarial assumptions and market, we need an estimated $8.5 Mil- lion to fully fund the retirement plan deficit and the plan transition. As of today, $7 Mil- lion has been identified or has already been given by ARPC boards and agencies, several presbyteries, and individuals. This leaves a need of approximately $1.5 Million, which the 2021 General Synod charged this Com- mittee to raise by an appeal directly to ARPC congregations. The Lord has already provided so much

of what is needed. We now turn to you, the churches and individual members of the ARPC, and ask that you support those who have faithfully served the Lord over many years. Please make your gifts payable to “ARPC General Synod” with a notation of “Retirement Plan” and mail it to the ad- dress below. If you have any questions or need assistance from the Committee as you communicate this need with your Session or congregation members, please let us know by contacting Rex Casterline or me.

We are trusting in God to meet this need through you, His people.

Hary Jeffcoat, Chairman Rex Casterline, Secretary/Clerk

WOMEN OF WHITE OAK BRUNCH A Women’s Ministry Brunch was held at White Oak ARP Church in

Senoia, Georgia, on October 16, 2021. The focus was on the topic of “Jesus: Our Sympathetic Savior.” It was a time of fellowship and reflection on God’s great care and providence shown to us in His only son, Jesus Christ, who knows us most intimately and works in us through the Holy Spirit. In preparation for the brunch, women in the church were asked to write per- sonal stories of how they had witnessed God at work in their lives through the global pandemic. Those stories were compiled into a booklet entitled, “The Covid Chronicles.” The booklets were distributed at the brunch. The program consisted of devotions, brunch and fellowship time, and

craft time. Nancy Cook provided the devotion and application from Hebrews 4:14-17. The brunch was enjoyed by many, and it was a time of encouragement for all. Below is the program from the event.?
