Talking with Danny, he described music as being “so many things. The beauty of music and what I love the most about music is that it’s handed down from generations. I came from a family of musicians. It’s just part of who I am.”


It wasn’t long after Danny started playing music that he lost his beloved mother. He says that, “music really helped me in the grieving process.” He would later go on to write songs and albums inspired by her. One example is his hit song, “Mama Raised an Outlaw.”


At the age 21, Danny picked up a guitar that his father gave him. He sat down at his cousin’s piano, tuned the guitar, and taught himself to play. From there, he devoted his entire life to it. He says that when he got good enough at playing guitar, the guitar started to get a little boring for him, so that’s when he decided to try singing.


Danny is now the lead singer and the songwriter for The Arizona Territory Band, a local band based out of Prescott Arizona and Yavapai County. Dan- ny says that he “loves being on stage performing with his band.” You can find Danny and his band every Friday night playing at The Palace Restau- rant and Saloon in Prescott (5pm-8pm).
