Irrigation scheduling solutions

Simple to use – A skilled agronomist or other agricultural consultant, along with advanced scheduling software, can provide the necessary irrigation scheduling information in an easy-to-use format. Plus, by using connected devices through telemetry, a grower or consultant can easily obtain that data.

Save time – Growers can reduce the need to visit their fields on a daily basis, saving time and travel costs with software that allows data and recommendations to be viewed by email, internet and mobile apps.

Save money – Remote irrigation management allows growers to save labor and time spent driving to each pivot point or pump station to turn water on or off.

Technology can pay for itself, giving growers the ability to do more in less time. If labor, energy and other savings don’t cover the cost, good irrigation scheduling can also save crop yields. It is not uncommon to increase yields by 5 percent or more, which easily pays for the service and equipment.

Bottom line – Two of the biggest input costs are water and energy. Smart irrigation practices to make the most of these inputs can only help profitability, especially when coupled with remote management technology to reduce labor costs.

So while the farm economy remains challenging, the best hedge is accurate and timely data. It’s more important than ever to provide the optimum water and nutrient supply to maximize yields.
