At the leading edge of innovation Inside SIR’s new fall meeting

he practice landscape is always changing, and it’s hard to keep up on evolving education—especially when you have a busy practice.

SIR EDGE, the newest in-person meeting offered by SIR, is a 3-day, deep-dive, in-person event designed for experienced IRs who want

maximum education for a minimal time commitment.

“We intend EDGE to be a high-level, focused, practical and fast-paced interactive meeting for practicing IRs given by the leading authorities in the field,” said Brian Funaki, MD, FSIR, one of the program moderators.

EDGE features four tracks: • Yttrium-90 (Y-90)/transarterial radioembolization (TARE) • Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) • Musculoskeletal (MSK) embolization/pain management • Portal hypertension

Chaired by Dr. Funaki; Ziv J Haskal, MD, FSIR; and Daniel Y. Sze, MD, PhD, FSIR, EDGE will take place this October in Denver, CO. Over the course of a long weekend, participants will engage in interactive learning experiences, participate in skill labs, network with peers and industry partners, and earn up to 15 CME credits.

According to Dr. Sze, one of the main appeals of SIR EDGE is that it offers an elevated curriculum with very little distraction.

“EDGE is a uniquely condensed palette of high-interest IR,” said Dr. Haskal. “The four tracks focus on the topics most immediately relevant to practicing IRs today, and content keeps in mind considerations regarding clinical practice, practice building and data-based decisions.”

In addition, unique technical “special skills” sessions will allow participants to get hands-on with new technology.

“It will bridge that gap from ‘saw it at a show’ to ‘saw it and start using it in my lab’,” said Dr. Haskal.

Participants can also take part in interactive plenary events, view case videos and engage in panel debates.
