IR UpFront SIR publishes IVC filter clinical practice guidelines

SIR has published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR) a new clinical practice guideline (CPG) that provides evidence-based recommendations on the use of inferior vena cava (IVC) filters to treat venous thromboembolism. The guidelines were developed by a multidisciplinary panel using gold-standard guideline methodology following the Standards for Trustworthy Clinical Practice Guidelines set by the National Academy of Medicine. The guidelines include recommendations for scenarios such as:

• Acute PE & DVT • Anticoagulation for VTE
