SIRPAC is hitting the campaign trail

As the nonpartisan political action committee for SIR, SIR Political Action Committee (SIRPAC) provides financial support to those candidates running for federal offices who promote the interests of IRs, your practices and your patients. SIRPAC recently donated to the campaign of IR Leonardo Valentín, MD, an SIR member running for Florida’s 7th Congressional District. If elected to Congress on Nov. 3, he would be the first IR elected to Congress.

Angio Club series SIR is excited to announce its newest member benefit—a virtual angio club series. Starting this October, these webinar-based sessions will take place every other month and will capture the enthusiastic and collaborative spirit of the original in-person angio club meetings. Just like the format of angio club meetings, the content of each webinar will be driven by participants.

Submit your interesting cases and we’ll select a few for presentation and discussion for each event. Our goal is to provide engaging and educational learning experiences for all members— of any career stage, practice setting and geographic location.

Register for the Oct. 21, 8 p.m., session at bit.ly/angio-club. Submit cases for the angio club at tfaforms.com/4852183.

post-thrombotic syndrome care As payers continue to challenge venous stenting practices, SIR members can help ensure appropriate access to care by participating in the Chronic Venous Thrombosis: Relief with Adjunctive Catheter-directed Therapy (C-TRACT) Trial. This multicenter, randomized trial will determine if the use of image-guided, endovascular therapy effectively reduces the severity of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS). C-TRACT investigators aim to enroll 374 patients. Help enroll patients for this critical trial and learn more at bloodclotstudy.wustl.edu/c-tract.
