ANNUAL EQUIPMENT & PRODUCT BUYER’S GUIDE
MOWERS Brouwer Kesmac
Kesmac Gang Transportable Vertical Mowers These mowers control thatch build-up, help prevent diseases, allow increased aeration, improve water penetration, and more effective utilization of fertilizer. For turf producers, add the benefit of up to two weeks earlier spring green-up at the start of the season. The five gang model cutting width is 135 inches. A 45-hp tractor is required.
Progressive Turf Equipment
PM-36 When paired with the Progressive TD-92 Finishing Mower, the Pro-Max 36 Mowing System delivers a 36-ft. wide cut. With production up to 33 acres per hour, the deep deck skirts and high lift blades produce a smooth, even, finish cut in all conditions. With a zero uncut circle and the ability to reverse, the North American manufactured Pro-Max 36 is a true mowing system. Often growers begin with a TD92 and add a PM-36 later to meet their increased production needs. Maintenance free blade spindles were released as standard equipment in 2013, reducing maintenance time and cost. If you own an older model, the maintenance free blade spindles are backwards compatible. A high degree of parts interchangeability with both earlier models and the TD92 keeps the cost of operation low.
Progressive Turf Equipment
TD65 The TD65 is a narrower version of the TD92, offering high productivity and great value. With a cutting width of 15.5 feet, it is designed for smaller fields or where a larger tractor is not available. While the TD65 is smaller than the TD92, its features and construction mirror the larger mower. Those components have been field proven for many years, establishing the TD65’s solid reputation for dependability and productivity. As a result, many older mowers are still in use as production mowers on sod farms of all sizes. The mower’s three independent floating decks are designed with deep skirts and feature high blade tip speeds to deliver a superior cut quality in all conditions. Maintenance free blade spindles are a standard feature—reducing maintenance time and worry. An optional highway transport tire makes it easy to move between fields.
Progressive Turf Equipment
TDR-22n The second generation of this 22 foot roller mower, the TDR-22n is available with bolt- on decks in either painted or the popular galvanized finish. The TDR-22n introduced significant changes including revised wing pivot geometry that enhances fore/aft deck balance and an optional wide-profile tire with 70 percent greater contact area to reduce ground pressure and soil compaction. Designed with a focus on reduced maintenance, it has maintenance free blade spindles and 100 hour PTO shaft greasing intervals as standard features. Lifting the rollers during a turn prevents product/crop damage from the rollers sliding across immature turf, leaving more product that can be harvested from the headlands. To make turning ‘easier on the turf,’ the TDR-22n is equipped with the Pro Lift-N-Turn™ system as standard equipment.
