REFLECTIONS

Themes of Love

by JENNIFER GUTHRIE, EDITOR

Purely by the Lord’s doing, many contributors to this issue focused on themes of love — sacrifi-

cial love, how we should prioritize our loves, loving through giving, loving God, and loving others. It was not my full intention to have our February issue be filled with love, but the Lord’s will is the Lord’s will.

In the NIV, NASB, and ESV Bibles, love is men-

tioned over 500 times — this includes several different types of love including God’s love, brotherly love, pa- rental love, and romantic love. Suffice it to say, love is a large and important topic that should be talked about in its many different aspects. To read about different aspects of love, check out "Begging to Give" (pg. 2), “Love and Sacrifice” (pg. 6), “Keeping Love in Order” (pg. 8), and “Love One Another” (pg. 23).

While this issue is not full of mushy, Hall-

mark-themed love, the theme of love has laced itself throughout this issue. We pray you are encouraged to find new ways to commit to loving God, the Church, and others well. I challenge you to push yourself in the area of love, whether that is loving God better, loving the Church better, or sacrificially loving others — friends, family, strangers. Pray for open eyes and open hearts for God to show you how you can love more.

How can you love more?

FELLOWSHIP FOCUS, FEBRUARY/MARCH 2021 4

LO O K I NG FOR CONTRI BUTORS

As a nonprofit magazine, we are always looking for volunteers to contribute articles and content to the magazine. If you enjoy writing and have written any articles, blogs, or know someone who has, please send an email to fellowship- focus@febcministries.org.

Pastors in the Fellowship: have you

received lots of good feedback on cer- tain sermons or do you have a very good process of sermon writing? Please send us an article so that your resources and knowledge can be shared with other pastors and ministry leaders in the Fellowship.

Do you have a knack for photogra-

phy? Send us pictures from any church events or church ministry groups! We love being able to share your experienc- es with the rest of the Fellowship.

The mission statement for the

FEBC says, “Joining our hands to strengthen His Church.” By coming together, sharing relevant resources, encouraging others in the Fellowship, and strengthening our ministry lead- ers, we can join hands to “strengthen His Church.”

This issue includes one such re-

source from Community Bible Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Check out the ar- ticle, “Connecting the Church Through Technology” (pg. 13).
