Qualitative Research Studies Qualitative research can inform our work as play therapists by helping us understand an unknown phenomenon and the personal lived experiences of participants. Qualitative research aims to closely describe, interpret, and provide    generalizing results to different settings or populations is not a  understand that qualitative researchers actually do generalize and                  research in meaningful ways to better understand their clients and families depending on settings, sample characteristics, and experiences. Findings from qualitative research assist play therapists in learning information that helps them better serve myriad clients. For example, if a play therapist reads Hassey and        parents’ experiences in child-parent relationship training, by learning from the participants in this study and hearing their voices and perspectives, they can consider approaches or adaptations they may have never thought of in this treatment.
