Cultural Humility Framework Cultural humility is a foundational framework for addressing these challenges. To practice cultural humility, play therapists must engage in continuous self-assessment, recognize the dynamics of power and privilege, and actively adapt their approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. This includes developing cross-cultural skills, maintaining awareness of personal biases, and demonstrating respect for diverse worldviews. Cultural humility also requires accountability and a willingness to acknowledge and repair cultural misunderstandings within the therapeutic relationship.

Culturally Responsive Play Therapy Practices Research on play therapy with diverse populations highlights the importance of both the therapeutic environment and the clinician’s    various races, ethnicities, abilities, and family structures.
