Free goat walks help neighbors unite, unwind
One Idaho family’s unique pets are bringing the whole community together. While most people prefer dogs and cats for pets, the Ching family decided to adopt goats.
Turns out, they weren’t the only ones who fell in love with these four-legged farm animals. That’s how Chingoat was born, a free neighborhood activity where anyone can walk, feed, and hang out with these neigh- borhood celebrities. The Chings say it’s become a popular
activity, especially among Boise State stu- dents in the neighborhood looking for a men- tal health break. “You can just like forget everything and just really be present in that moment and just look at these cute little goats and relax,” said organizer Kerry Ching. And these aren’t just mental health breaks for humans. Kerry says the goats love going on the walks as well. n
