their bold actions in Acts 6:7 - “And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied great- ly in Jerusalem and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.” To me, this is one of the most signif- icant verses in the Bible. These priests were Joseph’s and Nicodemus’ friends and fellow council members. These these were the men who had Him killed! And they, like Joseph and Nicode- mus, now understood that Jesus was who He claimed to be, and they sur- rendered their lives to Him. And Je- sus forgave them and accepted them into His kingdom. while on the cross Jesus asked the Fa- ther to forgive them for they did not know what they were doing. If Jesus forgave those priests who
repented and came to Him in faith - those who had him killed - He will certainly forgive you and has forgiven you if you have repented and con- fessed Him as your Lord and Savior. So remember the courage of Joseph, who as he carried Jesus to the tomb looked forward to the day when Jesus would carry him across the veil that separates this life from the life eternal. Be faithful to the task we have as believers- to carry Christ and His gospel wherever because He has promised to carry us to that land of endless days when our days here on this earth are over.
