FROM THE KVMA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Season’s Greetings KVMA Members, We are excited for you receive our fourth newsletter of the year, and this winter edition has wonderful information from the front page to the back. I hope you enjoy the review of the 2019 KVMA Mid-America Veterinary Conference, as it was a wonderful meeting filled with insightful speakers, great net-working events, a sold out exhibitor hall, creative wet labs. We even had an amazing evening filled with great food, history and bluegrass music at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Our KVMA Foundation Silent & Live auction brought in nearly $11,000 - a record for the auction. I want to express sincere appreciation to both the dona- tions and supporters. Te winners of the Veterinarians of the Year, Distinguished Service and Hall of Fame Awards were so heartfelt in their acceptance speeches which resulted in tears to many in attendance.
Te New Year 2020 is already into full planning mode! We are looking forward to working with all our members on projects and outreach meetings. Many of which are currently being planned, so be on the out- look for those dates. Te 2020 KVMA Mid-America Veterinary Conference planning is also well underway, and we are excited to share these details soon. Make your plans and mark your calendars for September 18- 20 at Belterra Casino, Golf, and Spa Resort. We know it is a move away from Louisville for the first time in many years but we are working very hard to make this an enjoyable conference for all!
As I look back on my first full year with the KVMA I can say it has been nothing short of amazing and I have enjoyed each day more and more. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your KVMA Office, for assistance. If there is something I cannot answer immediately, I assure you I will work until we can. Many thanks to our KVMA Executive Board, KVMA Foundation Board and many of you who serve on our committees, as each of you are helping make a difference for our Veterinary community.
Many well wishes to you and your families through this Holiday Season. Warmly,
Debra Hamelback KVMA Executive Director
