Scholarship Recipients Share their Conference Experiences


Zenobia A. Charania, MS Kansas State University As a graduate student, education is a constant in my life. However, my time at the Annual APT International Conference was a learning experience in a way that I have never experienced


before. The highlight for me was the in-depth trainings I attended throughout the conference, with the star of my experience being the Keynote Session. Hearing the views of experts regarding the importance of theory in practice and how it can guide us continues  the scholarship awarded to me by the Foundation for Play Therapy donors as it allowed me to experience the magic of play with APT.

and the APT have for the power of play left me feeling inspired, creative, and motivated to continue spreading the power of play in my community. I am actively applying the knowledge that I gained to form upcoming research projects and bridge the gaps that exist in the play therapy literature as a doctoral student. I formed connections with


individuals from my community, doctoral


students, and professionals with lifelong experience. I am grateful for the commitment this organization has made to aid aspiring Registered Play Therapists.


Ashtyn McCain, MS University of Arkansas The APT International Conference was an experience that made an exceptional impact on my education in becoming an LPC and RPT. I was able to build upon my knowledge and quickly comprehend


the new materials covered at the conference. I am incredibly thankful to the Foundation for Play Therapy donors who made this opportunity possible for me. I am beyond excited to take my new skills forward as I develop in my career in working with children and adolescents in my community!
