School Partnerships Trough this partnership with
school districts across the state, Build California is connecting directly with eager students that can be appren- ticeship ready as soon as they are able to enter the workforce. Tis brings awareness to action by providing resources at school activation events that include live demos, virtual compe- titions, and more, and 24 events have been hosted so far. Te initiative is a resource for
educators and parents alike as they navigate distanced learning. Build California will continue to build relationships with schools across California and has already reached more than 3,700 students to date.
Ambassador Program Build California recently launched
its ambassador program. To date, the initiative has trained more than 45 construction professionals in virtual presentation techniques and the Build California brand. Tis diverse volunteer team of
ambassadors will work in tandem with the AGC outreach staff to spread the word about the benefits and oppor- tunities available in the industry. Tey will serve as the face of the industry by providing mentorship and lived experience to tell the story of

construction. Tis type of endeavor is only as powerful as the industry partners that participate, and Build California is empowering industry professionals to share their passion with new audiences for years to come.

Build California Earns AGC a National Workforce Development Award
Just one year after its launch,
Build California has earned AGC of California the 2020 Chapter Workforce Development Award from AGC of America. AGC of California President
Mike Blach and AGC Construction Education Foundation Chair Clinton Myers sent out an announcement about the award on October 2, 2020. In it, they noted, “This is a tremendous achievement that comes on the heels of the program’s first year, further showcasing that Build California has been successful in its efforts thus far to inform and inspire a new generation of construction professionals using its robust mix of outreach and programmatic efforts.” Blach and Myers thanked more
than 30 Build California Coalition members for their support as well as the army of over 45 Build California Ambassadors for helping make the award possible and the Build California program a resounding success.
