AGC of CA Holds Installation, First 2015 Meetings ASSOCIATION HIGHLIGHTS


AGC of California held its first Divi-


sion and State Board of Directors meet- ings of 2015 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay January 22-23, followed by its annual Installation of Officers ban- quet. AGC’s State Board covered a wide range of business issues,


including an


overview of the association’s strategies for 2015 in the areas of membership, market- ing, organizational effectiveness and ser- vices. Keynote speaker Ken Simonson, Chief


Economist for AGC of America, provided an in-depth construction spending, labor and materials outlook presentation. He offered a generally positive forecast for California construction in 2015, although there are significant variances by segment and location. President’s Scholarships 2014 AGC of California President Curt


Weltz announced the recipient of his 2014 President’s Scholarship award: Nick Mencarini, CSU Chico. The scholarship was awarded based on essay submissions which focused on drones and their effec- tiveness in the workplace.
