publisher’s message NEW OFFERINGS
ASBO International had big plans for 2020 and like organizations in many professions, we had to be nim- ble and reactive. Technology helped
. . . immensely. I have covered in pre- vious publisher’s messages our shift from in-office to at-home work, the organizational fallout of the pan- demic. For our members, we shifted
from an in-person conference to a fully online conference. We were able to implement two major initiatives that we had planned. (1) A significant shift in our member- ship categories, moving from individual membership to membership for everyone on the school district business office team. (2) A Learning Management System (LMS) for school business officials.
Our education team is working tirelessly to provide quality education online. See page 3 for a sampling of some of the technology and innovative professional devel- opment topics currently on offer. In addition, keep your eyes open for the following offerings through ASBO Learn: Workshop – A synchronous/asynchronous one-week virtual professional development event that includes a variety of interactive components such as discussion forums, on-demand videos, live webinars, interactive activities, etc. *Worth CPE, and SFO credits (for those who qualify). Boot Camp – A synchronous one-week virtual profes- sional development event that includes a one-hour webi- nar each day for five consecutive days. *Worth CPE, SFO, and in some cases CAE credits. Power Professional Course – A recorded webinar or conference session converted into an interactive course. Length of course may vary based on its original format. *Worth SFO credits. Series – Two to three hour-long live and/or recorded webinars sold together. *Worth CPE and SFO credits for the live versions and SFO credits for the recorded on- demand sessions. Bundle – Five hour-long recorded (on-demand) webi- nars sold together. The content is the result of the live webinars from a boot camp. *Worth SFO credits.
