Care for Creation
Finally, as pastoral musicians we have the responsibility to care for and respect all of creation. Be conscious of this in every aspect of parish life in your care. Consider how organization reduces the need to duplicate printed resources that already exist but are misplaced. When the time comes to replace dated electronics, check with your local municipalities and dispose of these unusable electronics responsibly. Don’t keep dated or broken equipment around—it is just clutter. A merged parish may find itself with duplicate electronics or instruments. Donate these usable instruments to student programs that support sacred music. Do the homework, and be responsible.
