One day Sherwood’s classmate, Oscar, said to him, “I’m old
enough that I can do anything I want to.” Sherwood told him, “No, he could not.” “Yes I can”, he said, “ I can do anything I want to do.” Sherwood decided not to argue with him but he knew Oscar was wrong. Several days later, the argument came up again, and Sherwood
told him that he could choose to do anything he wanted, but his dad told him our choices have consequences. Oscar said, “What are consequences?” Sherwood answered, “That’s what happens after you do things. Some consequences are good and some are bad. Some consequences you can see coming but some you may not expect.” Oscar got angry and said, “I don’t care what your dad says. If
I want to do something, I will do it!” There was no way arguing with him would work.
Sherwood thought, “OK,” Oscar is going to choose to do something one day that he will wish he had not done! Several days later, Oscar decided he wanted to take a shortcut through a gate with a large sign that said, “Do Not Open”. When he opened the gate, a very large bull came charging out and butted him. It was a good thing that the gate swung shut before something worse happened. Oscar told Sherwood that he may have been right. Sherwood said, “I knew I was. You shouldn’t do things that will have bad
results. You need to think about what will happen because of what you do. You should have known there was a good reason the sign on the gate said ‘Do Not Open’.” “God gave us a brain to think and one of the important things we ought to think about is what will happen because we choose
to do things. Sometimes doing what we want to do is OK but there are other times when what we want to do can result in bad things happening to us or to others.”

Read Luke 12:22-34
Easter Sunday, our sanctuary is adorned with hundreds of delicate, sweet-smelling blossoms. - not see, speak, talk, or walk. Yet the Lord of the entire universe loves it and cares about it! He provides it with sunlight, soil, and water for nourishment. He allows it to die during the winter months, but He brings it back to life each spring – just in time for Easter. Lilies don’t have to worry: God will always care for them.
we are human beings created in God’s image! We should not worry. God knows exactly what we need and what is best for us. He’s got a wonderful plan for each one of His children.
worry often. I know I certainly do. We worry about big things: health, safety, money, school, relationships, etc. We worry about smaller things, such as who’s going to win the basketball so many things to worry about! It can be overwhelming to ponder. Yet God tells us to stop being anxious. We must trust Him. He is sovereign over all creation, and our lives are in His hands. He has a plan for you. Seek Him, seek heavenly treasures, and fear not. God, who loves you more than you could ever imagine, will provide everything you need. Happy Easter! “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
