Amy Clements, CIRMS, ARM has worked with Community Association Underwriters (CAU) since 2005. She is a past volunteer on the WSCAI Education Committee and currently serves on WSCAI’s Business Partners and Communications Committees. Her focus is promoting and participating in educational opportunities to those
involved with community associations. She discusses insurance coverage in this issue.
Kathy Greenwood retired from the Boeing training organization in 2011 and has been a Board Member at her Condominium, the Nautica Soundview Condominiums, for the past three years. She currently serves her community as Board President. She started a Welcoming Committee for her community in 2015 to help
new residents find their way around the two mid-rise buildings (128 units) in downtown Everett. Kathy provides tips on how to start a Welcoming Committee in her article.
Rob Guyott, CMCA, AMS
contributes the article “Day Tripping” in this issue. Rob is a Community Association Manager at HOAMCO and the Operations Director for Trilogy at Redmond Ridge. Rob has managed community associations for nearly a decade and has been in multi-family property management since 2002. Rob
loves the outdoors, his dog, and his lovely bride-to-be. If Rob is not at work you may find him grooming his beard, standing in a river with a fly rod, setting up a tent or enjoying a relaxing evening kitchen-dancing with aforementioned babe.
Craig Powers
is the Corporate Director of Restoration for COIT Cleaning & Restoration, a second generation family owned corporation since 1950. Craig currently sits on the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) Board of Directors and Education Committee helping advance the restoration industry and
education offerings. He specializes in large loss, complex projects, catastrophe events and consulting. Craig also holds several advanced industry certifications including mold remediation and in his article, discusses a remediation project involving hidden mold.
Nathan Seney, RA, RRO
shares a case study in building enclosure repair in this issue. Nathan is an Associate and Senior Project Architect who specializes in investigating issues and developing solutions for building enclosure systems at OAC Services. In this role, he is responsible for assessing building enclosure issues, developing
design and repair documents, and coordinating building repairs. He also provides clients with construction budgeting and contract administration assistance. Nathan has a passion for working with the smallest of small governments, condominium boards, therefore most of his clients consist of Property Managers, Community Managers, and HOA’s.
Joy Steele, CMCA
provides a review of Robert’s Rules in this issue. Joy is a community manager at Trestle Community Management. A devoted community volunteer for over a decade, she has also served her condo association for 7+ years, both on the board and on various committees. A member of both the SPJ and
the NSNC, Joy is a columnist and contributor to the South King Media group, and various online and print periodicals. She currently resides in Des Moines with her husband Dan and their two rescue dogs.
Mike Walker
is a Project Manager with Association Reserves of WA and a former Association Manager with over 20 years combined experience in property management. With a degree in English Literature and Political Science, Mike has written several articles for the WSCAI Community Associations Journal
over the last ten 10 years including the two-part series on productivity, “Taking Back Your Life from the Whirlwind.” He enjoys a good latte’, local travel, an occasional hike, reading and discussing theology, smoking Nicaraguan cigars, and tinkering on home repair projects. Mike likes to keep it fun, for example, at 63, he still thinks he can surf. This month Mike contributes, “Work With Me, People: How Your Reserve Analyst Can Make You Look Like a Rockstar.”
