Our DEDICATED

experts understand the needs of community associations. We offer:

In addition to Barbara’s extensive knowledge of all things relating to community associations and their insurance, we all remember that she was so giving of her time, locally and nationally. She attended each of the national conferences and she made sure she walked away learning something new. She connected the veterans of the industry with those that were just starting to become involved and she made it look easy because you just knew you were in the presence of class and real wisdom. No matter what life decided to deal her, she always seemed to have a smile and a wink in response. We all looked up to her, and we all relied on her and we are all better for having known her.

Kara Cermak, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Barbara Wick was so much more than the expert on community association insurance, the dedicated volunteer for the Community Associations Institute, and the wife and mother who carefully balanced the needs of her family with the needs of her clients. Barbara was a pillar of integrity, honesty, and strength with an unmatched commitment to raising the quality in all of her endeavors. She was genuine, always a lady, and sincerely deserving of our respect. I remain the humbled and honored recipient of the 2003 Barbara D. Wick Service Award.

Linda J. Schiff

All the accolades, awards and credentials she earned over the years cannot do justice in defining the dedication, passion, wisdom and leadership Barbara brought to CAI, its members and the industry as a whole. And yet all of these accomplishments pale in comparison to the void left behind by a truly selfless friend, a wonderful, elegant lady.

Mark W. Burke

Barbara Wick was the personification of amazing grace. She was a woman of tremendous professional accomplishment, but it was just Barbara herself that captured you. Barbara wasn’t just the candle or the mirror that reflected the light; she was both. She battled cancer for the last decade with unflagging will and determination, always positive, always radiant in the face of what to most of us would be devastating personal adversity. There was a cancer survivor’s plaque given to Barbara that said: She didn’t just survive. She became. Barbara marveled at those mystical words, and she lived and loved her exemplary, exceptional and extraordinary life.
