Camper Spotlight
Meet Todd Coppere has been coming for many years to Camp Joye loves getting to see old friends and meeting new ones each summer. He enjoys hanging out with his special friends and having great time. This year his specials friends were Micah B. and Finlay A.. During the year Todd collects tabs from soda cans, “Tabs for Todd”, to help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald house. Those funds help pay for the utility costs for the houses. Each summer his past counselors and others drop off tabs for us to send home with him. This year we gave him 64.7 pounds of tabs. He ended up being able to give them a grand total of 76 pounds. Save those tabs and drop them off next summer.
Camp Joy North Carolina 2024 Have you ever experienced a week serving the Lord which has
potentially shifted the trajectory of your life? I would say, with extreme condence, that this is the experience of many of our counselors who have served at Camp Joy since the summer of 1980.
This summer, the other directors and I were shufing through some old Camp Joy videos and projector slides (who remembers those?) to prepare them for digitizing. The nostalgia was so contagious as we looked at younger versions of our campers and staff.
As I reected on that old footage, I thought about how many generations of people have joined the ranks of the Camp Joy Family and of what they are doing now. How are they using the gifts the Lord has given to them? What are they doing with their lives? For those I’ve been fortunate enough to keep up with, I know the answers to these questions. There is no doubt that for many, their experience at Camp Joy awakened something in them that they hadn’t noticed before. Something that grabbed their attention to “wake up” and heed the plans the Lord had for them!
If you or someone you know may be interested in serving as a counselor at Camp Joy next summer, apply! There is no age limit for people wishing to serve as counselors. Counselors need to be at least 15 to apply. We are always especially in need of male counselors. The Lord is so faithful to us and always meets our every need each summer, and we rejoice in that. Applications go live on our website on December 1. Will you join us next summer?

Help us meet our annual goal of $100,000. Each year we rely on donors to bridge the gap from our camper fees to actual cost. We are on our way to reaching our annual goal, we still need $40,000. Help get us to the nish line!
