It’s hard to believe that we are heading into fall and starting the meeting season already. Each year seems to pass faster
and faster. Overall, given the proper weather, it appears that the season was strong, and people are still spending money. We had some areas in the country, like pockets in the west, that saw some downward trends, but for the most part it was a good year.

board of directors noted that we should be holding our fall meeting in conjunction with the IAFE Convention. It makes sense that we hold our board meeting where our fair partners are gathered, and we can continue to foster our relationship with our fairs. The next issue of ShowTime will be dedicated to the IAFE Convention in Phoenix, AZ, and will contain information about our participation at the event. I know many of you will be attending both IAAPA and IAFE and we look forward to seeing you. We continue our lobbying efforts in Washington, DC, to obtain co-sponsors for HR 1787. We need everyone to participate by contacting their Congressional representative and asking them to sign on to our bill. We have a real shot getting this garnering support – if you haven’t made the call yet, please do so today. It would be a shame to let this opportunity slip by without the passage of HR 1787.
