T


his semester, ZIPS Beta has continued our tradition of serv-


ing the local community through a variety of outreach events, tutorial sessions, school spirit, and culinary delights. On November 26, 2017, ZIPS Beta sent a group of students to attend the Greater New York Dental Meeting, where we set up a “Dental and Oral Cancer Screening” booth. We enjoyed the opportunity to explore the vast showroom together and learn about many of the techno- logical advancements that various dental companies are pioneer- ing – including cutting edge laser dental equipment, intraoral scan- ning devices, and prismatic surgical loupes. At the request of many D2 stu-


dents, our Tutorial Chair, Alfred Ong, organized and executed a very successful “Wax Rims” tuto- rial session on December 2, 2018. Twenty-three D2 students attended this event, and they all left with new insights and techniques to create high quality wax rims.
