Scott Andrews, CPCU is Sr. Vice President and Professional Liability Practice Leader of HUB Northwest, a National Insurance Brokerage. He teams up with David Leonhardt to discuss cyber protection in this issue. Scott has been working with clients on Cyber Liability insurance as the greatest emerging risk to
business. He has an engineering degree and holds the CPCU insurance designation. He serves on the Washington Insurance Commissioner’s Advisory Board and represents many condominium associations and legal clients across the Northwest.
Sahara Burson, CMCA
is Community Association Manager at VIS Group Inc. Sahara discusses fall landscaping in her article.
Lydia Dews, Esq.
is an accomplished and recognized attorney with the Law Offices of Lyndia L. Dews, Esq. who employs mediation, collaboration, ADR and when required a vigilant litigation style in the areas of family, medical malpractice, probate and contracts. Her article provides insight to negotiating with “difficult” people.
Janell Gonyea, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
is the Community Association Manager for High Point Open Space Association and High Point Homeowners Association in West Seattle. She holds a B.A. in philosophy and French from Portland State University and an M.A. in international policy studies with specializations in conflict resolution
and gender and development from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She spends her free time with her husband, family and golden retriever/lab. In this issue, she contributes “National Night Out: Investing in Block Parties.”
David Leonhardt
is Managing Partner of Seitel Systems, an IT Professional Services firm that has supported businesses in the Puget Sound since 1990. An experienced business leader who holds an MBA from UW as well as an Aeronautical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois, David translates technical
challenges into real-world terms that are meaningful to business executives. He co-wrote the article “Why do Condominium Associations and their Managers Need Cyber Protection” with Scott Andrews.
Melissa Musser, CMCA, AMS
brings us “National Night Out: Building Community in Your Association.” As the Suburban Growth Practices Director with Trestle Community Management, Melissa focuses on developer and declarant community formation through transition to owners for homeowner and master
Associations. As an elected City Councilperson for the City of Des Moines since 2010, she chairs the city’s Environment Committee and brings her extensive knowledge of plat management, low impact development standards and surface water management to the clients she serves. Melissa is part of WSCAI’s Membership Committee and an Ambassador.
Craig V. Olson
is the Vice President of Sales at Washington Energy Services, a third generation family owned company servicing the greater Puget Sound area. He is a native Washingtonian. He graduated from Washington State University in 2011. He holds a bachelors in business administration (BBA).
Craig leads an amazing team of over 250 employees, whom specialize in home energy services and products. He is also involved in numerous community organizations and resides in Edmonds, WA. His article discusses fireplace maintenance.
Dean Pody, Esq.
of Pody & McDonald, PLLC, graduated from the Seattle University School of Law in 1997. Since 2001, he has almost exclusively represented condominium and homeowner associations. Prior to that time, he primarily represented bankruptcy debtors. He served on the Board of Directors of the WSCAI from
2007 to 2010 and served as Chapter President in 2009. He contributes an article on the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act in this issue.
