Membership Campaign Winner! APT congratulates the 2016 Membership
Campaign winner Sharon Silverberg, PhD, LPC, LMFT, RPT-S, from Virginia Beach, VA. A member since 2007 and RPT-S since 2009, Sharon recruited 4 new Professional Members during the March – June membership campaign. The June 30th random drawing for a $250 Amazon Gift Card included those who referred at least one new member!

Mississippi APT earned a $500 food and beverage credit to be used during the 2016 Conference, by increasing its number of professional members by 22% – the highest percentage increase during the campaign! Thank you to the 127 APT members who recruited 183 new Professional and 26 new Affiliate members, thereby helping to grow the Association and strengthen the play therapy community!
Future Conference Sites
APT is pleased to announce that Dallas will once again host the Annual Conference in 2019, and Palm Springs will be our site for 2020! “Those cities were selected after a very competitive bidding process” according to Diane Leon, Operations Manager. As previously announced the 2017 conference will be in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and 2018 will take us to Phoenix, Arizona
Play Therapy Best Practices
The tri-annual review of Play Therapy Best Practices has been completed! APT thanks Robert Jason Grant, Ed.D., LPC, NCC, RPT-S and the 23 member Ethics and Practice Guidelines Committee for their revisions and contributions to this document. The updated Play Therapy Best Practices guidelines are now available under the Publications tab on the APT website.

Awards Committee Responsible for annually reviewing and evaluating award nominations, Kara Carnes-Holt, PhD, LPC, RPT-S will succeed Tami Langen, MSW, LISW-S, RPT-S as chair of the Awards of Excellence Committee.
APT thanks those members who chair or serve on our various program committees which help to generate value for our members.
Debbie Campbell
Leadership Committee After completing Leadership Academy, and serving on the Leadership Committee, Debbie Campbell, MA, LMFT, LPCC, will succeed Norma Mayer, MA, LPC, RPT as Chair, effective August 1. In addition to an annual review of the program, the leadership committee also observes and identifies emerging class leaders.
