President's Message
Robert M. DeNichilo, Esq., CCAL Richardson I Ober I DeNichilo Chapter President
FORWA
We are almost halfway through the year, and what an eventful year it's been! The Board and committee chairs have been hard at work, and much has been accomplished. It is such an honor and a pleasure to lead such a talented, dedicated, and energetic group of people. We held a committee chair and board retreat via Zoom in the first half of the year. All the committees were represented, and almost all of the chairs and co-chairs made the call. We discussed and set goals for the year and explored ways all the committees could support each other. Many great ideas came out of that meeting, so expect to see and hear more about all the committees in the coming months in our social media channels and the 0C View magazine. Please consider connecting with the Chapter via social media if you haven't already.
In March we held our annual Awards Dinner, this year at the Huntington Beach Hyatt. The "Good Vibrations" theme was prevalent throughout, and it was a great evening recognizing the efforts and hard work of all of the nominees. There were over 80 nominees this year, which reflects the great people and talent in our Chapter. Special congratulations go out to all of the winners.
The Chapter is also focusing on increasing homeowner leader involvement. We have added a new committee designed to allow our homeowner leaders to connect, discuss issues they may be dealing with, and exchange ideas. The Homeowner Leader Committee will meet quarterly. Its first event, a Homeowner Leader Mixer, was held at the Chapter office at the end of April. In addition, to encourage our homeowner leaders to attend our monthly luncheon and mini-trade show events, the Chapter has
CAIIOCR
allocated a limited number of sponsorships for homeowner leaders who want to attend free of charge. Don't hesitate to get in touch with the Chapter office if you are interested.
The Manager Support Committee is also making progress on adding the mentorship component to the Committee's activities to provide mentors to new and incoming managers who want to have someone to connect with and learn the ins and outs of our industry. The Committee will be looking for mentors to match up with mentees. If you are an experienced manager interested in mentoring new and incoming managers, please consider joining the Manager Support Committee and being a mentor. We plan to continue to expand mentor programs to other CAI members, so stay on the lookout for future announcements.
We also have a new event this year to raise funds supporting the CAi's California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC). In what is sure to be a fun evening of laughs and networking, the Chapter will hold its first ever Comedy Night at the Irvine lmprov on July 28th, with a portion of the proceeds going to CLAC.
Lastly, we want your feedback. How can we increase the value you receive from being a member of our Chapter? What events are you looking forward to or did you enjoy the most? Let us know so that we can incorporate your feedback as we start to plan for 2023!
