Fundraiser in conjunction with the annual Legislative Update luncheon. This was a relatively simple concept, but it required a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Committee members contacted the membership and got CLAC commitments in advance of the luncheon. Those who contributed were acknowledged at the event verbally and in the PowerPoint presentation on screen for everyone to see. Sponsoring companies and the bi-monthly magazine, OC View, were also enthusiastically acknowledged for their efforts.

Plans for 2022

In 2022 CLAC will expand its work beyond advocacy only to state legislators. CAI-CLAC’s lobbyist Louie Brown says, “CAI-CLAC is excited about 2022 and looking forward to another successful year in Sacramento. We are not only focused on legislation. We will be engaging regulatory bodies, like the Department of Insurance, to address major issues impacting associations statewide. We will also continue to focus on our local legislative lobby days in an effort of increasing our outreach and strengthening our relationships with policymakers. We look forward to engaging with members throughout the State to make 2022 our best year yet!” If you’re reading this article, you’re warmly invited to attend these upcoming events:

CAI-OC Legislative Support Committee (LSC)

Pledge Fundraiser At the November 18, 2021 Legislative Update Luncheon and Mini Trade Show, the CAI-OC Legislative Support Committee raised $14,401 for CAI-California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC). There are several laws introduced each year that would negatively impact homeowners. Laws that would threaten homeowner privacy and could impact property values. The legislation that CLAC monitors, supports, or opposes has a direct impact on the communities we live in, work with, or manage. CAI-CLAC is here to protect homeowners and educate policymakers, and as a CAI California Chapter the Orange County Regional Chapter is eager to support their goals. Thank you to everyone who supported CLAC with a Pledge!
