starting off our past few monthly luncheons with that greeting. I can’t even express how awesome it has been attending these luncheons recently and seeing the positivity that swirls around us. Te smiles, the hugs, and the buzz of chatter fills the air and I absolutely love it!

By the time you receive this OC View edition, a quarter of the year will have gone by…can you imagine how fast time is moving? We started off with a joint luncheon with CAI GRIE at the Disneyland Hotel in January – I hope all of you were able to use some of those great application tools that were suggested by our technology keynote speaker, Beth Ziesenis. Ten we celebrated in February not only our Chapter’s 40th year anniversary with our ruby themed gala but also showed our appreciation to so many volunteers who devote their time and energy to our organization. A big shout out went to our nominees and award winners and much respected honor to our late colleague and friend, Steve Feistel. As March comes to an end, we came together at the Day at the Food Bank, recognized our community managers at the annual PCAM Luncheon, educated our CAVL members with the Spring CLTP classes and spent an evening knocking down pins at the Bowling Tournament. Whew – we’ve been busy!
So, what does our next quarter look like you ask? I hope you are all keeping busy and doing different things and doing things differently. At the Board and Committee level, all our volunteers are keeping on track of the Chapter’s 2017 Vision and strategic plan. Tings are moving along and you can feel the sense of accomplishments. Tose baby steps are taking us far and I can’t wait to share some results with you in our next OC View edition. Do me a favor…when you see any of our Chapter volunteers, smile and introduce yourself and let them know how thankful you are for their efforts. As you participate in each of the events, you will get to experience the Committee’s thoughts and ideas come to fruition. New things are happening all around us.
Speaking of new things, our Chapter website is getting a bit of a facelift. I got to take a sneak peek and I must say – “fabulous!” Te look and feel is fresh and coming soon we will be able to register and pay for events online. I know that this will take a lot of the burden off our staff and make it easier for all of us to stay organize.
Until next time, I wanted to share two things that I find worth repeating. I was recently at an event and one of the speakers in attendance told the audience, “My momma said to me, ‘Be someone you is. Don’t be someone you ain’t. Being someone you ain’t, is not being someone you is.’” And to further that thought, if you are not being who you truly are and the best that you can be, then you are a JV version of yourself...Go be the Varsity YOU!
