Gabby Grimes | Manager, Membership & Marketing

As I write this edition of my Member Perks column, I’m currently sitting in Vegas in the heat, by the fountain at the Bellagio. I’m here for CAI’s National Conference & Expo — my first — and the experience has given me an opportunity to reflect on how happy I am to be a part of the chapter, this staff team, and to consider all that our Keystone Chapter has to offer.

For those who know me, or have read my column in the past, you’re aware that I started my involvement with CAI as an affiliate Business Partner member. That was a great experience and gave me my first taste of what being involved with a membership organization like CAI was all about. Prior to joining the staff, I was a volunteer. I served as the chair of our Communications & Content Committee as well as serving as a member on our PULSE — Professionals United to Lead, Serve & Engage — Committee. My volunteer service even earned me the CAI Rookie of the Year Award!

The thing I learned while a Business Partner member and that I can’t emphasize enough as your Membership & Marketing Manager is that you get out of membership what you put into it. By joining a committee, writing an article, presenting a topic at an educational program, attending and networking at an event, or any of a million other ways of getting involved with CAI, you will gain as much as you give. Membership is a two-way street and I can say firsthand that the members who get the most out of membership are the members who put the most into it.

Being a member of the chapter is so important and taking advantage of your membership will help enhance your career. It will help you to achieve your goals and more. The sky is the limit with CAI!

Special thanks this issue to our most recent Recruiters-of-the-Month in our Recruiter Rewards program. That includes my predecessor here at CAI, Carol Shenk, who continues to be an

One last thought before I go: be empathetic! If your heart is right then your mind will follow. Continue to show love to your fellow neighbor. End summer with a bang! #wearecai #membership #marketing
