Title VII Summit Delivers Info on New Rules and Regulations

With increased industry scrutiny on

compliance and mandated adherence to Title VII regulations, it’s more critical than ever that primes, subs, JV partners, em- ployees, vendors, and suppliers are trained on the latest requirements

that

where today’s opportunities lie and how to work effectively with agencies, primes, and labor organizations to maximize current potential. The event highlighted tools and resources that can help ensure compliance with effective policy and process develop- ment for all phases of a project. The event was also in celebration of

Los Angeles, hosted by Skanska and the Veterans Advocacy Group of America in partnership with AGC of California, offered training on a variety of topics. Among them were prevailing wage issues and apprenticeships, labor compliance, understanding project labor agreements, preparing for audits, and doing business with Metro. Speakers from the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement,

the California

Employment Development Department, Workforce Services Division, govern- ment and agency officials, and Los Ange- les Metro addressed the audience about

the 50-year anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and several speakers included insights about the impact of that legisla- tion on their personal and professional lives. Though progress has been made, there is much more to do in to expand full and equal opportunity to all. The goal of the Summit was to ‘unite primes to build a better industry’ – and create opportu- nities, reduce infractions, and enhance compliance through education and train- ing. In partnership with AGC of California

and supported by sponsors Turner Con- struction, Metro and The Solis Group, the Title VII Summit was an important step in creating awareness of the in-depth, on- going training needed to strengthen the

construction industry. Working closely with the AGC of California Construction Education Foundation (AGC CEF), the Summit hosts will have additional op- portunities to share information and re- sources that all primes can use to provide and increase meaningful opportunities for all. In appreciation for AGC CEF’s support

of the Summit, and in recognition of all the great training opportunities they pro- vide for our industry, they were awarded a portion of the event proceeds to help continue and expand their focus on youth development and building workforce ca- pacity. The event organizers offer many thanks

for AGC, industry, and all who were able to attend this inaugural event to make it a success.

step. Lastly, you can now track your com- pleted courses and certificates through our easy-to-use account management system. Simply login to your account and view or download all the courses you’ve attended, including all certifications, military quali- fications, PDUs, GBCI credentialing, and CEUs. Overall, our goal is to improve your on-
