Academic Planning Committee of NCCU recently approved a proposal to start a concentration in health informatics, which will be available in the fall of 2014.
The NCCU SLIS will continue its usual efforts, however, if the profession is ever to mirror the population at large, the burden of diversity can no longer be borne out by a small number of schools. I urge my colleagues at ALA-accredited programs throughout North America to help prepare our profession to better reflect the persons we serve, locally, nationally and internationally.
