Bob & Pam Loomis

is the product of the best we’ve had. He has done amazing things for our program, but Tuff has also done more for the industry than any Longhorn that ever lived,” Bob says.

“Bob and I love Tuff so much,” Pam says. “But it helps knowing that he went to a great new home.”

Besides breaking records, and being named the Ultimate Bull at the Longhorn Extravaganza and at every show he has attended since, Cowboy Tuff Chex has been helping breeders look at the complete package. “People are more educated and are looking at conformation, not just buying horn,” Bob says. “Tuff is the complete package. He’s one of the bulls that has great horn, and great conformation, and great color. There has never been a bull like that, and it will be a long time before another one comes along that you can say possesses all of those qualities like Tuff.”

Bob and Pam have found it hard not seeing him in the pastures, but have taken comfort knowing Tuff went to the Filips. “We were so happy they got him. If I had to hand pick someone, they were definitely right there at the top. I know they will take care of him and put him with great cows,” Bob says.

after the sale. “He’s settled in,” Richard says. “He is just a dog gentle puppy. You can just walk up to him and scratch him.” Bob agrees by saying, “A 5-year-old could handle him.”

The Filips had to invest in a new trailer in order to accommodate the size of Tuff; however, the publicity that the bull has garnered proves the Filips made a great decision with their purchase. “Tuff has done a great job for the industry because of the incredible public relations,” Richard says. “It is showing that our animals have value. But it also is helping new breeders who really look into the industry know that there’s something for everyone.”

“The beautiful thing about Tuff is that he is young enough that he can do the same thing for another breeder that he did for us,” Bob says.
