If you abandoned dentistry to pursue a dif- ferent ‘dream’ or Plan B, what would that be? I would definitely consider aviation. While I have no desire to teach, I could see myself as a corporate pilot. I’ve always had a passion for aviation.

What is something readers would be surprised to learn about you? I’m a pretty open book about things. I don’t discuss it a lot, but I love being outdoors. I’m just as comfortable being in the woods in the middle of my farm working as I am at any meeting or function. I spend a lot of time in hockey rinks watching Reed play and have been a diehard Blues fan since the 1990s.

Favorite … hobby/past time, food, travel destination, book, movie? Answer any or all! I’m a huge fan of the 1980s and the culture of the time. Most of my movie and music repertoire is still from that decade. Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, The Burbs, Duran Duran, Huey Lewis … the list goes on. If you need an ‘80s trivia anchorman for your table, let me know.

My biggest pastime would have to be aviation. Being 18 inches from someone’s face eight hours a day, to being miles from anyone, makes for a nice average. There’s something about being up there and seeing views humans weren’t meant to see that makes you sit back and reflect on how small we actually are.
