INSTITUTE A BONUS PROGRAM
This may or may not be for every dental office around. I have seen this work in both positive and negative ways. Bonuses don’t have to be financial in nature. They can include additional time off or prizes, for example. There are so many ways to set up a bonus system, but make sure goals are clear and attainable.
CELEBRATE & HAVE FUN
You need to take time to celebrate your suc- cess and, in my opinion, it should be away from the office. Taking your team to dinner, going shopping, getting pampered at a spa or even going to the movies are some great ways to have fun and enjoy time team building.
Of course, this is not an all-inclusive list but some of the ways I have seen other colleagues build great teams and say “thank you” to those who make the doctors and practices the best they can. No matter what we do, we must take the time to be appreciative of those who make our days go smoother. We need them to know we have their backs just as much as they have ours. Go out there and have fun with this and positively encourage your team. It will make your time in the prac- tice go much smoother.

New Login Method for ADA, MDA Websites Members will use email for login, dues payment and more
I
n an effort to streamline account access and enhance services and support, in September the ADA imple- mented a new login procedure. The move comes after the ADA decided to upgrade to a more modern membership technology system and strengthen ac- count security.
In September, the ADA sent emails to members prompting they reset their passwords and enter their unique email address to serve as a username. Once this is complete, members will need only their email address and password to log in to ADA web properties — including
ADA.org, the Journal of the American Dental Association, the ADA Member App and many state and local dental society webpages. Members will no longer be required to use their member number.
When it is time for dues renewal this fall, members will be logging in to pay through this new system, and also will have enhanced options, such as setting up recurring dona- tions for PAC and Foundation donations, easily changing payment methods, ordering from the store, registering for events (including Connect4Success), seeing transactional records and more, all from one dashboard. The ADA has created a page with FAQs to help members during this transition, at
ada.org/ada-account-login-faq.
TEAM RESOURCES
The ADA has a Managing the Dental Staff page with top- ics on effective team meetings, avoiding hiring mistakes, dental employment agreements and dental team training, to name a few. You’ll also find a link to a great all- in-one resource, Guidelines for Practice Success: Managing the Dental Team, a free download. It’s filled with practical and easy-to-implement ideas to help you lead your team. Snap the QR code to ac- cess these resources.
