Pro tip:  to a computer on nice days—  meetings. Get those steps in!


Tips and Takeaways


If you are interested in serving on a volunteer board, here are some things to keep in mind that I’ve learned from my experiences:  Be patient. You are not likely going to join a board and immediately be some sort of super volunteer. You    before they are ready to delegate. Understand that it is going to take time for you to feel that you are getting something out of the experience, and that you are making meaningful contributions.


 Be realistic.       yourself, you may burn yourself out.


 Be aware. A lot of people are enthusiastic to serve    of a group of people of different ages, interests, and backgrounds making decisions and taking action is a frustrating and tedious business. Serving on a board is 

 Be participatory and dependable. Agreeing to serve on a board is agreeing to be the participant of      to do everything perfectly all at once. But remember that you signed up for this stuff—and people are depending    

Sadly, I am moving out of the rented Eastlake condominium I have called home for more than a dozen years.
