ongratulations to Rick Gaskill (KS) who was re-elected and to Scott Riviere (LA) and Pam Dyson (TX) who were elected to serve three-year
terms on the APT board of directors starting October 11, 2014. Tami Langen will conclude her 3-year term this October. The slate of candidates was designed by Chair Marilyn Snow (MS) and
the 13-member Nominations Committee. The Board scans and identifies change drivers in the mental health environment, approves the ends that the organization will achieve, and monitors organizational performance.
2014 APT Key Awards A
PT congratulates and will present its 2014 Key Awards to these member recipients during a special awards breakfast at the Oct. 7-12 conference in Houston, TX.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Terry Kottman, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, RPT-S, Cedar Falls, IA, for outstanding lifetime play therapy achievement.
PUBLIC EDUCATION & PROMOTION AWARD Trudy Post Sprunk, M.Ed., LMFT-S, LPC-CPCS, RPT-S, Tucker, GA, for outstanding public play therapy education and promotion.
STUDENT RESEARCH AWARD Terri Gonzales, Ph.D., LPC, Dallas, TX, for outstanding research by graduate or doctoral students.
APT SERVICE AWARD Tami Langen, MSW, LISW-S, RPT-S, Mason, OH, for outstanding service to APT, its Foundation for Play Therapy, or its chartered branches.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION & TRAINING AWARD Mistie Barnes, Ed.D., LPC-S, RPT-S, Cleveland, MS, for providing outstanding play therapy education and training.
