he ADA has an- nounced the
winners of the 2023 ADA Design Innovation Awards competition, featuring judges from the ADA Council on Dental Practice, ADA Member Advantage and BMO Harris Bank. The competition showcases the best dental practices in esthetic appeal, func- tion and design.
Entries were open from June to August, with judges selecting three finalists in each category. During the month of October voting was then open to the dental com- munity, which resulted in almost 2,300 votes.
The Large New Build Winner is Bennett Family Dentistry in Cape Girardeau. NKC Dental in North Kansas City earned the top spot in the Remodel Category. Each winner will be awarded a $1,000 prize.
Dr. Ross Bennett, Bennett Family Dentistry, said his vision was to create a timeless, efficient dental facility designed to best serve the patients and dental team. His primary recommen- dation to someone building or remodeling is to seek out education with your team before starting the building process. He also strongly recommends dentists involve their trusted team members in the design process.
Dr. Bill Busch, NKC Dental, said his vision was to improve efficiencies and technologies, while maintaining the integrity of a historical building in North Kansas City. He advises considering the patient journey from arrival to departure, ensuring a seamless flow that minimizes stress. And to consider personal touches: “We are the dentist for many sports teams in the area and those jerseys decorate our walls. It is something the patients and team enjoy.”
