WINNING ENTRY { RURAL LIFE } RUSTY TRUCK by Dr. Nathan Woodward, Forsyth


THE “RURAL LIFE” CATEGORY HAD 11 ENTRIES. The category images depict aspects unique to and easily identifiable with a rural lifestyle/environment. Dr. Woodward (General Practice, UMKC 13) had previously entered the contest as a dental student, but this was the first year he won, claiming both a first place and honorable mention. This image was taken in rural Taney County, Mo. fall 2021. “I


have an obsession with old barns. Any chance I get, I stop and capture these amazing structures,” he said. “This old truck was sitting in proximity to this old barn.” He said his patients know he’s into old barns, and it’s not uncommon for them to give him leads on locations of potential subjects—this image was from one of those leads.
