Navigating the Turnover Process
Every condominium association goes through a transition, known as “turnover”, where control of the board of directors (“Board”) passes from the developer to the unit owners—or more specifically the unit owner-elected Board. Per Section
36 | COMMON INTEREST®
18.2(d) of the Illinois Condominium Property Act (“Act”), turnover is triggered upon the earlier of (a) 75% of the units being conveyed; or (b) three (3) years after the condominium declaration is recorded.
