nnovation and collaboration have been the hallmarks of a massive new mixed-use project underway by
a joint venture of Blach Construction and Cahill Contractors LLC in Millbrae, CA. Representing one of the largest transit-oriented develop- ments ever built in California, with an estimated construction cost of $350 million, Gateway at Millbrae Station is now about 50 percent complete and on track to finish in summer 2022. lots adjacent to the Millbrae BART Station along the busy Highway 101 corridor, in close proximity to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Te community defining development provides critically needed housing while enabling easy access to sustainable transportation as well as new restau- rants, retail and public spaces. Specific components include:
A six-story, 150,000-sq.-ft. office building that offers dramatic views of the runways at SFO and Bay Area hillsides from its top floor decks. Retail and restaurant spaces and a parking garage are included in this building designed by Form4
Architects.
A 164-room Marriott Residence Inn, designed by ACRM Architects.
Two residential buildings with a combined 400 residential units, of which 80 are affordable/veteran- preferred units, 20 are medium income, and the remainder market rate units. LPMD Archi- tects designed the affordable unit building, while the 320-unit market rate building with retail and parking was jointly designed by LPMD Architects and Studio T Square.
