SEDIMENTOLOGY AND STRATIGRAPHY


New York in 1976, and continued his geologic studies in graduate school at Eastern Kentucky University where he earned an M.S. degree in 1980. Mr. Ketani worked as a consulting oil and gas exploration geologist, monitoring drilling projects in the northern Rocky Mountain region and the Texas panhandle before moving back to New York City where he was hired by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. His regu- latory responsibilities included monitor- ing hydrogeological investigations for landfills throughout NYC, including at the Fresh Kills Landfill (formerly one of the largest landfills in the world). He then joined the Division of Remediation at NYSDEC, where he presently super- vises the cleanup of petroleum spill sites throughout the City. Mr. Ketani has 36 years of professional experience and is a Certified Professional Geologist through AIPG. Mr. Ketani also is a member of GSA, AAPG, NGWA, and the Society for Sedimentary Geology.
