the goals of the association? Generally speaking, these unexpected circumstances also come with unanticipated cost variables. This can add stress and hesitation to the decision-making process, which may result in the association choosing the least expensive option at that time. In a world where the board members can change year over year, who is there to ensure that the details remain consistent and the highest level of quality is being achieved? Who is there to represent the associations best interests? In most instances, you should not rely on the board to be that entity as they are not construction experts. You must have realistic expectations for your board members and realize that there is a need for experts to make sure the work is being done to the proper expected level. An owner’s representative can create a cohesive transfer, year over year.

Most contractors do not work on projects with the intention of doing things wrong, but construction is an imperfect science done by imperfect people and mistakes can be made. 4. Are there more projects that need to be done than your board can handle?

5. Do you fully understand all the components involved in completing the project?

These are all things to consider. If you answered no to any of them, you should consider seeking the guidance of an owner’s representative. They are a great resource for contractors, associations and board members to ensure that their projects run effectively and smoothly.
