Calamity, Catastrophe, & DAY 1 SCENARIO


BBQ gets out of control on  of a 12- unit, three-story condominium and spreads   an additional four receives heavy water damage from the water used to extinguish  and everyone is safe, reality starts to sink in…and the questions begin.


Let’s follow each path & see the challenges they face 

“Where do I live, how much damage was done, how long will it take to repair my home, can I get into my unit to get items I need, medicine, computers, etc.?”

“What do we do, what are we responsible for? Where do we start? How do we secure the building if we can’t get in? Did someone notify the insurance company?”

As you continue into the unit you catch that unique odor when something has been wet for several days.   

“Do I begin removing my personal items? Do I wait for my adjuster to see the damage? Who pays for the removal and cleaning of my personal items?”

process — can make the difference  situation or having it become your worst nightmare.

The start of repairs is placed on hold, a series of people hired by the insurance company will need to see the building before repairs can be done. Fire   the extent of damage, and construction consultants determining the most effective path to repair the structure. Who is looking into a contractor that can do this type of repair?


 or more of the unit owners does not have insurance and the cost to remove clean and store their items is cost prohibitive.
