Happenings Saturday Seminar

On Saturday September 7th we held our “Budgeting Basics, Financial Controls and Legislative Requirements” seminar.

This budget class is in its 16th year and is one of CAI’s most popular classes. Our panel of speakers spoke  to avoid pitfalls. They also discussed the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) that went into effect on July 1, 2018 and how that impacts adoptioption of budgets, assessments and special assessments.

Attendees at this event commented that all the speakers were great and informative. They learned so much and the information was delivered in a easy way to understand.

Thank you to our speakers, Heather Hutchison, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Jeremy Newman, CPA – and Jim Talaga, RS for sharing their knowledge on these topics.

Managers Only Meeting

At the September Managers only Meeting, Caitlin Traub CMCA, AMS spoke about Managing Diverse Communities in Our Changing World. This was a thought-provoking topic that discussed cultural backgrounds and helped explain behavior. The presentation was eye opening and the interactive part made it more personal and fun. Caitlin did a great job engaging the audience and many said that they took away a lot of good ideas and the ability to see things through a different lens.
