Load management devices use sophisticated technology to real-time monitor electric capacity in an entire community, determine the total capacity servicing that community, and deliver the net unused capacity out to vehicle charging equipment, on a driver-need basis. A load management control device switches between resident needs and car charging needs, with resident needs taking priority. That means that if an owner isn’t using the stove, dryer or electric heating, that the unused capacity can be siphoned off for car charging. This hasn’t previously been possible.
